GIS Analyst 1-3 Section 30- Location & Survey 30 / 50555555 / GIS1-3 / 7.15.25-EH This position requires flying in the Department's airplane and operating the camera used for collecting aerial photograph. This position processes and verifies the LiDAR system data entry, will work with complex LiDAR and Photography data for the Location and Survey Section as part of the Statewide Topographic mapping and other department needs such as court exhibits and drainage mapping. Is also responsible for computing and analyzing data as collected by the department or consultant's LiDAR units. Reviews the data for accuracy and prepares it for further use in the statewide mapping program as well as for drainage mapping and court exhibits. This position is also required to operate the LiDAR system as well as the digital aerial camera system for the department and includes making and reviewing flight planning for the collection of data.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of experience in using geographic information systems (GIS), using digital mapping and / or surveying technology, or in aerial photography; OR Twelve semester hours in a computer science, GIS, or geospatial field plus one year of experience in using geographic information systems, using digital mapping and / or surveying technology, or in aerial photography; OR A bachelor's degree with twelve semester hours in a computer science, GIS, or geospatial field.
