Your Role
Interested in influencing strategy at an iconic retail brand? Neiman Marcus Group (NMG) is looking for a Senior Analyst to join a dynamic strategy team.
The Senior Analyst will be charged with prioritizing critical initiatives for short- and long-term impact across the Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman brands. This role will work across the organization to align, enable, and support the development of NMGs strategic roadmap. The position will report to the Director of Corporate Strategy and work closely with the executive leadership team.
This role can be based in either of our two hub cities, Dallas or New York. In these areas, the senior analyst will benefit from the flexibility of working alongside team members in the hub offices, or remotely, pending team needs and in keeping with NMGs Ways of Working.
What Youll Do
- Drive short- and long-term planning by identifying opportunities, structuring concrete workstreams, and prioritizing initiatives through a lens of impact and feasibility; lead cross-functional teams to estimate size of the prize grounded in reality
- Spearhead critical strategic initiatives (identified above) by bringing thought leadership, strategic framing, and a strong problem-solving toolkit; create business plans for high-potential opportunities and follow through by partnering with key functional leaders on an execution plan
- Act as an agent of change, utilizing data and metrics to influence and align perspectives, and preparing people within the organization to act with urgency
- Prioritize, track, and share out the metrics that most powerfully measure our businesss performance and health
- Shape strategy and decision making through integrating and synthesizing market landscape insights, and anchoring our performance in the competitive context and macroeconomic environment
- Collaborate with our investor relations team to shape the external narrative about our business
- Contribute to a culture of collaboration and high performance across the Strategy team and our core partners
What You Bring
18-24 months of top-tier management consulting experience with a passion for apparel, retail, and luxury; related industry experience (outside consulting) is a plusBachelors degree requiredDemonstrated problem-solving skills; ability to structure ambiguous problems, to bring logic to drive key analyses, and to synthesize analyses to actionable insightsStrong quantitative background with experience distilling insights from complex dataCreative, out-of-the box thinking that can be applied to business implications and drive financial outcomesAbility to create strong working relationships with all levels of the organization, including building relationships and influencing senior management teamsStrong executive presence and communication skills with the ability to translate highly complex concepts and communicate them in a concise, digestible mannerHighly motivated self-starter with a willingness to remove obstacles, to manage cross-functional complexities and stakeholders, and to prioritize in a dynamic environmentFlexible generalist with knowledge, interest, and nimbleness across business functions, and the ability to thrive in ambiguityTeam player willing to take on new challenges, stretch into new skills, and rise to the occasion to achieve the teams objectives; a coach and thought partner across levels, with the ability to manage up and drive work forwardEnergy and edge that serve as catalyst for action and change in the organizationQualifications
