The Role and Responsibilities

• Communicate kitchen GMP rules to Chefs as needed- gloves, hairnets, proper hand washing, cleaning of equipment, sanitizing of prep stations, etc.
• Record and maintain daily cooking cooling logs, review, and report deviations for corrective actions with the FS team
• Maintain training roster for employees and chef teams including Food Handler certifications
• Perform daily and monthly audits / assessments on chef teams GMP and the manufacturing kitchen's compliance
• Ensure all items in coolers and freezers are appropriately labeled including Chef Name, Product Name and Date etc.
• Ensure all walk-in coolers and standalone fridges maintain specified temperature settings
• Daily facility compliance walks including corrective actions
• Ensures the facility is always ready for inspection by a local regulator or third-party auditor.
• Monitor facility for compliance with safe chemical use and any evidence of pest harborage.
• Oversee food production and ensure all Chefs are adhering to the rules and regulations of the CU Chef agreement
• Work closely with other departments such as Kitchen Operations, Supply Chain and Maintenance to correct issues affecting food safety and quality.
• Perform weekly thermometer calibrations for Chefs and Food Safety team.
• Other FS tasks and responsibilities as assigned as part of continuous improvement

A Little About You :

Bilingual English / Spanish preferred

Willing to work in different shifts (7-3, 9-5, 10-6, 12-8, 3-11 and overnight) including weekends, and in a temperature controlled (hot / cold) environment

Previous experience working in a food production or food service environment

Positive and committed to doing the right thing.

Experience working with a team in a fast-paced environment

Team player with a positive, collaborative mindset.

Proficiency G Suite / Google Workspace.

Good communication skills

ANSI accredited food handler certification or willingness to complete within 1 week

Ability to work 30+ hours per week.

Compensation All final pay rates will be determined by candidates experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
