Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is for an experienced school social worker to provide support to a middle school caseload of 30 students. The assignment runs from September 3 to October 13 and requires a 40-hour workweek at one school site in Grand Rapids, MI. This role is ideal for professionals with strong skills in student advocacy, counseling, and collaboration with educational teams.

Key Qualifications :

  • Valid Michigan School Social Worker certification (310) and LARA approval
  • Experience working with middle school-aged students
  • Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 30 students effectively
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Flexibility to travel to one school site as required
  • Candidates open to virtual work may be considered if onsite availability is limited

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Provide individual and group counseling to support students social and emotional well-being
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement intervention plans
  • Conduct assessments and maintain accurate records on student progress and services provided
  • Address behavioral issues and provide crisis intervention when necessary
  • Facilitate connections to community resources to support student needs
