Job Description
Responsible for managing engineering projects from concept through scope definition, design, costing, planning, installation, start-up and follow up assessment. Works with plant management, corporate resources, and third party vendors and contractors to deliver cost effective solutions that work.
- Lead and manage assigned engineering projects to meet timelines, budget, and quality requirements :
- Define scope, roles and responsibilities
- Facilitate the development of “the solution”
- Generate preliminary cost estimates
- Develop project CRF (Capital Request for Funding) and manage ongoing costs
- Solicit, review, recommend, and obtain approval on bids for work and equipment required
- Oversee contractors and employees assigned to the project,
- Supervise construction, purchase and installation of equipment, and initial start-up,
- Establish supporting infrastructure to ensure continued success of the venture once transitioned to the plant team
- Provide support for Capital Requests for Funding (CRFs); conduct project cost analysis, prepare cost estimates, provide alternatives, etc.
- Maintain detailed records for each project such as action plans, timelines, roles and responsibilities, cost tracking, and status against plan.
- Review project records periodically to assess problems encountered, progress made, solutions identified, and opportunities to share learning and expertise among operations throughout the organization.
- Actively and continuously work with corporate and plant management to identify, evaluate, and assess opportunities for improving production efficiency and quality from an engineering perspective
- Provide technical engineering and project management support to other divisions of the company as requested
- Performs other duties as assigned.
