Position Information :
The Coder II Inpatient is responsible for coding inpatient accounts with a balance less than $90000 including Rehab and accounts that fall into the Inpatient Coder I category performs the functions of coding DRG assignment collection of predefined indicators and abstracting medical records with a case mix greater than 1.5 provides timely and accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for reimbursement and specific information for statistical purposes. Remains current with recognized resources - AHA Coding Clinic and Official Coding Guidelines. Groups discharges utilizing the 3M encoder selecting the appropriate DRG for reimbursement. Communicates with physicians and clinical staff regarding coding and documentation issues.
Experience Requirements :
3 Years Coding - Inpatient Required - With High School Diploma And 2 Years Coding - Inpatient Required - With Preferred Education
