Department Summary

The Division of Student Life supports the university's academic mission and strategic plan through comprehensive programs and services that promote and advance student learning and success while fostering an inclusive and vibrant campus community. Student Life includes four major portfolios, the Office of the Dean of Students, Experiential Learning & Engagement, Health & Wellbeing, and Division Administration. The programs reporting to the Dean of Students work with Student Life staff, student groups, and other members of the university community in the development of curricular and co-curricular opportunities that assure the integration of academic and student life.

Position Summary

The primary purpose of the Coordinator of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Education and Support Services (LGBTESS) is to serve as a resource for Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, Agender, and Aromantic (2SLGBTQIA3+) students by providing support and connecting students to programs and services. This position actively works with campus partners to ensure that 2SLGBTQIA3+ students have a successful, engaging, and inclusive experience at the University of Oregon. The Coordinator is responsible for initiating community building and outreach opportunities, providing educational, engagement, and resource-based programming.

This position requires the ability to work some evenings and weekends, and reports to an Assistant Director of Community and Belonging in the Office of the Dean of Students.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• One year of experience in working with students, preferably in a college, university, or similar setting.
• One year of experience working effectively with 2SLGBTQIA3+ individuals.
• Two years of experience implementing educational or community programming.
