Summary :

This position is primarily responsible for operating machines, such as those used to blend ingredients into compounds for processing. The Machine Operator will troubleshoot, maintain, fabricate, and assist maintenance employees with production floor equipment repairs.

Hours, Shifts, and Pay :

  • 1st Shift : 5 : 00 a.m. – 2 : 30 p.m. | Pay : $18.25 – $19.25 / hour.
  • 2nd Shift : 3 : 00 p.m. – 12 : 30 a.m. | Pay : $19.25 – $20.25 / hour.
  • 1st Shift : 5 : 00 a.m. – 2 : 30 p.m. | Pay : $18.25 – $19.25 / hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Core duties and responsibilities include the following :

  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Load ingredients into the mixing machine hopper from conveyor, scales, or hand trucks, or direct other workers to perform these tasks.
  • Start machines and adjust valves to regulate steam or cooling fluids in mixing chambers to blend and densify mixtures.
  • Operate and monitor assembly machine controls.
  • Ensure assembly machines are functioning properly and make necessary adjustments if equipment malfunctions.
  • Inspect products for measurement and quality, separating defective products.
  • Maintain a clean and safe production area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications :

    Education and Experience :

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2–3 years of related experience and / or training; 3 years preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Language Skills :

  • Ability to read and recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Mathematical Skills :

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Perform basic operations using American currency, weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Reasoning Ability :

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Physical Demands :

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly :

  • Stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, and talk or hear.
  • Frequently walk and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Have specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work Environment :

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to :

  • Fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and the risk of electrical shock.
  • Vibration and occasionally wet or humid conditions.
  • Extreme cold, extreme heat (non-weather-related), and moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Working near moving mechanical parts.
