Opportunity for Occupational Medicine APP (CRNP or PA-C)

Position Description :

The Penn Occupational Medicine team provides services to employees of the University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS) at 3 locations in Philadelphia : Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP), Pennsylvania Hospital (PAH), and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC). The provider group currently consists of 5 Nurse Practitioners and 3 Physicians who see patients in the outpatient setting.

They are seeking a Full-Time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) - Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) or Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) - to join their team. The new hire will be based primarily at HUP but may occasionally rotate through PPMC and PAH, as well. The providers manage a wide range of employee health needs, such as :

• Medical care for workplace injuries
• Workers compensation management
• Employment examinations
• Environmental consultative services
• Employee health assessment programs
• Fitness for duty evaluations
• Return-to-work evaluations
• Surveillance for Occupational Health concerns

The new hire will complete health assessments of patients, perform physical exams, and interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic services, as needed.  The APPs also assist other medical staff with admitting and discharging patients, obtaining triage information, administering medications, and other clinical duties. In addition to UPHS, the Penn Occupational Medicine group provides services to other clients in the community including the University of Pennsylvania.
