Position Overview – Relay Technician
As a Relay Technician at Potomac Testing, you will be a key player in the testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of protective relays within power distribution and transmission systems. Your work will directly contribute to preventing outages, enhancing system reliability, and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as NETA, IEEE, and NERC. This is a critical role supporting grid stability and operational safety across a wide range of high-impact projects.

Qualifications & Skills :
Experience : Hands-on experience with protective relays in transmission or distribution systems.
Technical Knowledge : Strong understanding of relay theory, system protection principles, and electrical circuitry.
Testing Expertise : Proficiency with relay test sets (e.g., Doble, Omicron, Megger) and diagnostic tools.
Problem-Solving : Ability to analyze relay operations and power system events.
Certifications (Preferred) : NETA Level II, III, or IV, or relevant relay protection training.
Travel : Ability to travel up to 25% for fieldwork .
