This is an Assistant Librarian (non-tenure track, 3 year renewable position).
Primary Duties
This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate must hold a Master’s degree in Library Science or equivalent degree from an American Library Association (ALA)-accredited institution. Candidates nearing degree completion will also be considered but must have earned the Master’s degree before appointment. Demonstrated working knowledge of information technology principles, processes, systems, and standards, including operating systems, systems security, wireless networking, digital initiatives, and emerging web technologies. Demonstrated potential for advancement in rank. We strongly encourage candidates with a strong desire to serve first-generation students; two years’ related experience; experience leading systems projects or implementing new technologies, preferably in an academic library environment; experience with ILS systems such as Alma / Primo VE or library management systems such as OCLC WMS; experience with authentication processes using Shibboleth, SAML, or OpenAthens; and knowledge of basic programming concepts and languages, scripting environments, coding systems, and / or notation formats such as Python, R, Java, PHP, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, CSS, JSON, XSL, and XML.
