Your Role at OPA :
As a Medical Assistant on the CARE TEAM at OPA you will contribute to outstanding patient experience by working with other providers and staff to ensure patients are receiving appropriate care. You will also perform administrative tasks, environmental tasks, and organizational tasks to ensure the clinic is operating effectively.
What You'll Do :
Adhere to the scope of practice of a MARoom patients, take vital signs, and document patient visits in electronic health record systemEnsure exam rooms are appropriately stocked, cleaned, and maintained for patient visitsComply with HIPAA, confidentiality, and state lawsAnswer patient calls and follow up with patientsAssist with patient scheduling as neededEffectively communicate with patients, providers, and staffMaintain a professional presenceReport concerns to appropriate staff membersOther duties as assigned by supervisorWhy You'll Excel in This Role :
You are able to understand medical charts, diagnosis, and coding for billing purposesYou demonstrate the ability to maintain a calm demeanor when under pressureYou have skill in operating a computer using a variety of software applications and an electronic health records systemYou are able to prioritize multiple tasks and work with a variety of patient care teamsRequired qualifications :
High School diploma or equivalentPreferred qualifications :
One year of clinical experience working as a medical assistant OR completion of externship in a medical officeCertified medical assistant through the AAMA OR registered medical assistant through the AMT ORLicensed practical nurse certification PLUS two years of clinical experienceFLSA status : Non-exempt
