Job Title : Inpatient Rehab (IRF PAI) Coder – Contract to Hire

Location : Remote (FL, GA, AL, SC, NC, KY, AR, AZ, MD)

Pay : $32–40

Contract Type : Contract to Hire

Start Date : ASAP

Role Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Rehab (IRF PAI) Coder to join on a remote, contract-to-hire basis. This role focuses on complex inpatient rehab charts with multiple comorbidities and multi-trauma patients.

Responsibilities :

  • Code Inpatient Rehab Facility (IRF) PAI charts using CMG vs. DRG guidelines and IRF PPS
  • Manually abstract codes (no CAC) from charts that may exceed 90 pages.
  • Assign IGC codes and ensure accurate functional status scoring.
  • Collaborate with the team on coding questions and complex cases.

Systems Used :

  • Meditech Expanse
  • 3M / Solventum

    • Schedule & Training :

  • Training : 9am–5pm EST, 1 : 1 support, 3–6 months onboarding depending on experience
  • Work Hours : 40 hours / week, EST time zone, flexible post-training, consistent weekends if scheduled

    • Qualifications :

  • Open to AAPC or AHIMA certified coders
  • Strong knowledge of IRF PAI, CMGs, multi-comorbidities, and functional scoring
  • Experience with Inpatient Rehab or similar facilities preferred

    • Metrics & Expectations :

  • Productivity : 4–5 charts / day (charts can be 90–100+ pages)
  • Accuracy : 95%
