THIS IS A TELE POSITION, REQUIRING TELE SKILLS - PLEASE READ BELOW
Travelers will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start, through UNA, only (with max attempts). If they fail, they will be made a DNU for months for CSH AZ and CSH Sac regions.
There is also a PASS / FAIL SIM LAB on day one of orientation. If they fail, they will be sent home and made a DNU for months.

Common diagnoses / Types of patients ED holds waiting for placement on a unit, primarily MS / Tele
Experience or 'Must have' skills Must have a strong cardiac tele background, preferably years. Must be able to decrease cardiac drips per physicians' orders and parameters. (Please confirm this experience on notes- updated cardiac gtts per Tracey KR) Nurses will be caring for more tele patients VS medical. (MS / Tele travlers DO NOT need prior travel experience, per Tracey Greene LMussmann)
Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes
Common titratable & / or set rate drips Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone
Charge Nurse / House Supervisor ED charge nurse.
Are there nurse aids on this unit / Ratios ED PCTs available
RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) No Vents
Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? Nurses must be able to read & interpret strips. No monitor tech in the ED.
Shifts & Scheduling hr shifts (a - p or p - a) Ability to self-schedule; however this could change from time to time.
Weekend Requirement weekend shifts in a week schedule.
Holiday Requirement Rotate in with the perm staff
Is there a call or standby requirement? No call required
Floating Requirements Would float to med / surg / tele / overflow units and CRMC / MGMC Eds as needed.
Scrub Color / Dress Code Navy
Unit / Department specific orientation shifts orientation to Med / Surg / Tele at primary campus.
Additional Notes Will be caring for patients from the ER who are waiting on a bed in the hospital.
Additional Questions May be asked to help with ED patients including vitals, IV starts and medicaton administration. Will not be asked to be primary RN for ED patient assignment.
