Senior PHP Software Engineer

Our client is seeking a Senior PHP Software Engineer with hands-on Laravel expertise to support the development of scalable, high-performance back-end systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative yet autonomous environment, takes pride in clean and maintainable code, and enjoys solving complex problems with modern web technologies.

This role is based in Vancouver, Washington, and requires 100% onsite work during the first 90 days, followed by a hybrid schedule of three days in the office per week.

Senior PHP Software Engineer Responsibilities :

Develop, test, and maintain back-end web applications using PHP and Laravel.
Design and build RESTful and / or GraphQL APIs to support web and mobile applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical solutions that meet business requirements.
Implement and optimize relational database structures using PostgreSQL or similar technologies.
Apply object-oriented design principles and best practices such as dependency injection and modular architecture.
Write and maintain automated tests, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Contribute to continuous integration and deployment workflows.
Ensure code quality, observability, and performance monitoring in production environments.
Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to drive engineering excellence.

Senior PHP Software Engineer Qualifications :

2+ years of hands-on experience developing with PHP, including modern frameworks like Laravel.

Solid understanding of SQL and experience designing and optimizing relational databases.

Proven experience building APIs (REST or GraphQL) and integrating with external services.

Familiarity with ORM frameworks such as Eloquent or equivalents.

Strong understanding of software testing strategies and practices.

Proficiency with Git and version control workflows.

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience preferred.

Salary : $100K-$150K / year. (DOE)
