Authorization Coordinator
An medical office in the Fresno area is seeking a detail-oriented Authorization Coordinator to join their team. This role focuses on processing authorization requests, verifying eligibility, entering data, and communicating with provider offices and patients. Key Responsibilities :
- Research and process patient authorization requests
- Verify insurance eligibility and patient benefits
- Enter demographic and authorization data into system
- Prepare and manage medical review forms and logs
- Answer incoming calls and provide high-quality customer service
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA standards
- Assist with urgent "stat" requests as needed
- Attend required department meetings and participate in team efforts
- Support other team functions as assigned
Requirements :
High school diploma or GED requiredAt least 1 year of experience in a medical office or insurance settingStrong data entry skills and computer proficiencyFamiliarity with insurance types (HMO, PPO, EPO, workers' comp, etc.)Excellent communication and organizational skillsComfortable working under tight deadlines in a high-volume environmentAbility to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive data tasksPreferred :
