A Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist at a leading Wisconsin hospital provides essential respiratory care and collaborates with medical teams to enhance patient outcomes. The role requires RRT certification, BLS and PALS certifications, and significant clinical experience, including exposure to academic trauma centers. Responsibilities include administering treatments, managing various ventilation methods, and engaging in care planning for both adult and pediatric patients.

Certification Details

  • Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in State of Wisconsin
  • RRT credentialed by National Board for Respiratory Care
  • BLS – must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY required
  • PALS – must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY required

Job Details

  • We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist to :
  • Work with an inter-disciplinary team to ensure high quality patient care.
  • Provide aerosolized medication, volume expansion, airway clearance techniques, tracheostomy cares and sputum inductions to patients.
  • Work with non-invasive ventilation, high flow and mechanical ventilation at IMC and ICU level
  • Collaborate with physicians, care team leaders, staff nurses, other caregiving disciplines, and patients / families to develop, implement, and evaluate a plan of care for each patient.

  • Minimum Requirements :
  • Traveler’s permanent address must be 50 miles from assigned primary work site location.
  • Floating - Travelers are the first. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and / or different locations within the organization. During the traveler’s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.
  • Two years minimum as staff therapist
  • Pediatric and adult experience required
  • Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital.
  • Prior traveler experience highly preferred
  • Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredited School for Respiratory Care

  • Required per Vaya standard.
  • Current / valid Drivers License required if driving is requirement of the position.
  • Required for Dialysis. Check Unit Description to determine if required for any other positions.
