job_description.job_card.job_descriptionWork in the Float Pool of a hospital setting on a Med / Surg unit Care for pre- and post-surgical inpatients, including those on ENT or transplant services Patient ratios are 5-6 : 1 for surgical patients and 3-4 : 1 in step down areas Care for patients needing management of new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, and NGT or DHT Day shift, 12-hour shifts, three days per week No operating room (OR) assignments; must have acute care surgical floor experience Responsible for nursing care of patients with a range of simple to complex post-surgical needs Manage patient care including medication administration, monitoring physiological data, and performing minor procedures Document patient responses to interventions and treatments and note all changes in physician orders Collaborate with physicians, patients, and families on care plans and discharge teaching Delegate appropriate tasks to support staff Holiday coverage may be required according to hospital policy Must maintain professional working relationships and communicate effectively Extensions beyond 26 weeks require a 6-month separation before reapplying Testing and background check processes may take at least two weeks Active OK or multistate compact RN license in hand Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association Minimum 1 year of hospital RN experience, including step down and med / surg Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred Experience caring for surgical patients and step down cases required Must have prior travel nurse experience ENT or transplant experience preferred Basic computer proficiency required Must live more than 50 miles from the facility (no locals) High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
