GARNEY CONSTRUCTION

The HR Technology Specialist is a senior-level professional responsible for the strategic oversight, configuration, and continuous improvement of Garney’s portfolio of HR systems. Acting as the subject matter expert across multiple platforms, including the Human Resource Information System (HRIS), Applicant Tracking System (ATS), Learning Management System (LMS), and payroll systems, this role ensures optimal functionality and alignment with organizational goals. The Specialist plays a critical role in managing system integrations, maintaining data integrity, and leading enterprise-wide HR technology projects. This role partners closely with HR leadership, IT, and external vendors to deliver innovative solutions that enhance employee experience, streamline operations, and enable data-driven decision-making.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Serve as the primary system administrator for all HR technology platforms, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Design, implement, and maintain configurations, workflows, and user access controls across HR systems.
  • Lead and manage integrations between HR systems and other enterprise platforms (e.g., ERP, benefits administration, timekeeping).
  • Oversee system upgrades, patches, and new feature deployments, coordinating with IT and third-party vendors for smooth implementation.
  • Perform regular audits and validation routines to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency of HR data.
  • Develop custom dashboards, reports, and analytics to support HR leadership and business units.
  • Manage full lifecycle of HR technology projects, including requirements gathering, solution design, testing, training, and post-launch support.
  • Research and evaluate emerging HR technologies and recommend adoption strategies based on organizational needs.
  • Provide end-user training, create detailed support documentation, and ensure consistent system use across HR and operations teams.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for HR technology investments that supports long-term business objectives and evolving HR practices.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in HR technology, with demonstrated success in system administration, project management, and process improvement.
  • Advanced proficiency in HR system administration, configuration, reporting, and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of core HR disciplines, including payroll, benefits, talent acquisition, learning, and employee data management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing system integrations and vendor relationships.
  • Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage timelines, budgets, and stakeholders.
  • Deep knowledge of data governance, HR compliance standards, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business insights.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to align HR technology initiatives with broader business priorities.
