Occupational Therapist

Under the supervision of Executive Director, and or the Nurse Manager of the Psychiatry inpatient department, evaluates each patient, completing a full initial evaluation appropriate to patient’s diagnosis according to established procedure and physician order. Services are provided according to hospital and departmental policies and procedures and in compliance with regulatory standards. Provides clinical supervision to affiliating students under guidelines established by the participating educational institutions. High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an approved School of Occupational Therapy with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy. Registration in the State of Massachusetts required. Previous experience is not required. Requires a minimum of one year on the job to be proficient in duties. Heavy lifting in teaching proper transfer techniques wound care including burns that require debridement. Superior hand skill required for fabrication of braces and splints.
