Mechanical Assembler

What's the role?

The Mechanical Assembler is required to work with Hilti installation products and modular support solutions. This position will work closely with other assemblers to connect components and construct Integrated Systems Business. Must be able to read blueprints, know how to use a variety of hand and power tools, measuring devices ., measuring tape / calipers, and able to stand for extended periods. This role includes a wide variety of tasks in support of a manufacturing / production environment. Including assembly, disassembly, re-assembly, fabrication, repair and / or inspection of mechanical systems. May set up and operate a variety of machine tools and hand tools. May route, dispatch and expedite flow of material. Checks for work correctness. Specific duties will include material preparation, the assembly and rework of mechanical assemblies.

What does the role involve?

• Produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies.
• Read and decipher schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
• Position or align components and parts, either manually or with hoists.
• Use hand tools or machines to assemble parts.
• Conduct quality control checks; test and inspect components for uniformity and quality.
• Clean and maintain work area and equipment, including tools.
• Prepare work to be accomplished by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
• Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
• Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
• Verify specifications by measuring completed component.
• Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications, notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
• Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Maintain inventory by checking stock to determine supply levels, placing and tracking orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.
• Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms; log productivity.
• Other duties as needed or assigned.
