About the Role : The Senior Manager, Corporate & General Accounting oversees the accounting operations for the Aviat Corporate Headquarters general ledger and US entity, ensuring compliance and excellence in daily accounting activities. This role involves responsibility over transactions within the US entity (including Corporate Headquarters), assisting with the completion of the audit, contributing to the completion of quarterly and annual SEC filings, and identifying process gaps and implementing process improvements.

As the Senior Manager, Corporate & General Accounting, you will report directly to the Corporate Assistant Controller and lead a team of individual contributors. This role is pivotal in managing accounting operations for the Aviat US entity general ledger, global consolidation, and ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely. You will also assist with various SEC filings (i.e., 10-K and 10-Q).

Responsibilities :

  • Management and oversight of accounting staff, including the selection of staff and the setting of expectations, performance goals and measuring of performance.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of journal entries, conduct comprehensive account reconciliations, and perform regular balance sheet reviews to maintain accuracy and integrity.
  • Manage and execute month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting close for US entity and international consolidation.
  • Perform elimination entries required for consolidation.
  • Assist with the completion of various sections of quarterly and annual SEC filings (i.e., 10-K, 10-Q).
  • Completes and maintains process documentation and ensures SOX 404 compliance for functional area of responsibility.
  • Provide timely and accurate accounting information to internal customers on an ad hoc basis.
  • Provide support for internal and external audits. Acts as a liaison with IS / ERP personnel on accounting system enhancement requests and training.
  • Accurate and efficient maintenance of the general ledger accounts and associated systems.
  • Proposal and development of improvements to existing company policies and procedures in the areas of general accounting, fixed asset management and financial reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Competencies :

  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in progressively more complex financial appointments within multinational public companies in a regional capacity.
  • Good knowledge of the various cultures and ways of working within the sector. Able to adapt and develop / implement plans, strategies and processes in ways suited to local cultures and customs.
  • A good mix of technical financial knowledge, strong commercial business acumen and strong people and organizational management skills.
  • Must be able to take charge of working groups, communicate plans and lead the group to complete an objective.
  • Must be comfortable working on group activities and projects initiated at short notice.
  • Must have excellent business systems background especially in Oracle. Must have working knowledge of standard office software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,).
  • CPA, or pursuing a CPA license
