This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.

Analyzes, interprets and develops new, innovative communications solutions for customers. Develops or modifies existing content and configuration management systems and processes. Leads writing and editing production. Determines approaches to content structure and design. Leads critical projects. Defines content organization, nomenclature and navigation systems for multifaceted projects. Resolves issues regarding regulatory and legal requirements. Defines new standards and guidelines. Provides expertise related to emerging trends and technology in the writing industry.

Boeing Commercial Airplanes Quality is working to update our process and procedures in order to enhance the readability, comprehension and integration of our documents across all levels of the company. The individual assigned to this task will help support analysis of the current reading level of the document, incorporate suggestions, revisions and improve the process writing architecture in an effort make things easier to understand.

The goal and strategy will be to simplify the document through robust, clear requirements using tables, images, and figures to help with the reader's comprehension. There are several documents in scope, broken down by business process swim-lanes that will be tackled over the next couple of years.

Scope : Contract writers will be used to improve processes under the Process and Procedure Simplification swim-lane for the Comprehensive Safety and Quality Plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a technical writer, with a portfolio that can be shared of previous work.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Experience process flows and incorporating other multimedia content into writings.
  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into clear, concise documentation.
  • Proficiency in using documentation tools such as MS Office, Microsoft Project, and Adobe.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with developers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Understanding of reading comprehension assessments and scoring
  • Familiarity with aerospace and / or manufacturing processes, including AS9100

Job Preferences

  • Experience AI tools and automation, such as Chat GPT.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously with technical requirements
  • Certification in technical writing (e.g., from the Society for Technical Communication).

    Min Pay Rate $59.22

    Max Pay Rate $64.65
