Job Summary
Under general direction of the Asst. Regional Manager, responsible for oversight of strategy implementation and business activity of construction and manufacturing operations in an assigned market area within the region.
Main Responsibilities
Culture, Strategy and Leadership

- Support execution of regional business strategy and initiatives aligning with company strategy, goals, and objectives
- Provide solid leadership and direction to operations teams within assigned area; set clear expectations and hold teams accountable for results
- Provide mentorship to team leaders, and support team development and professional growth
- Oversee execution of initiatives supporting recruiting and retention of high-performing teams
- Support organizational change initiatives necessary to maintain a dynamic and flexible business model
- Develop and maintain relationships with representatives from local, state, and federal entities, customers, and suppliers
Operations Management
Lead all aspects of manufacturing and construction operations in assigned market areaCoordinate and direct utilization of resources, equipment, and personnel involved in projects within assigned areaParticipate in construction and production planning processes, budgeting, and capital planning to support operationsPromote effective utilization of plants, equipment, and personnel; monitor daily labor and materials yieldsReview schedules, job cost estimates, and bidding information within scope of assigned market areaCollaborate with customers, job owners, agency representatives, subcontractors, suppliers, and construction and manufacturing supervisors to resolve issues and improve operational efficiency, quality, and servicePrepare and reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjust operational schedules as necessaryInspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to schedulesDevelop knowledge of market area, products, sales policies, and regulatory requirements impacting operationsEnsure operations are aligned with safety, environmental, and other regulatory requirementsFinancial Management
Participate in regional budgeting, financial planning and forecasting processesReview market analysis data and provide recommendations to regional leadership regarding operational goals, and market growthHold operational teams accountable for meeting operational goals and achievement of financial resultsDevelop and submit budgets and capital plans; routinely review operational expensesAnalyze, interpret, and present financial and operational data to Simon and Colas leadership teamsEnsure business practices follow ethics policies, financial best practices, and regulatory requirementsEducation & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction management, related field and / or equivalent combination of education and experienceValid drivers’ license and ability to maintain a clean driving record7+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, aggregate materials manufacturing and / or related field3+ years of leadership experience managing teamsComputer skills, including use of Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)Ability to lead, mentor, and develop others, define goals and objectives, and hold others accountableAbility to engage with employees at all levels and inspire them to achieve successExperience working with financial statements, analyzing financial data, preparing budgets, and managing capitalAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions, and solve complex problemsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documentsAbility to effectively present information to individuals at all levels of the organizationAbility to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community and resolve problemsPhysical Requirements
