As part of our ongoing commitment to operational excellence, we are seeking a dependable Wastewater Operator in Training or Grades I to IV to join our team and play a crucial role in our Field Operations department.

Job Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS for Operator in Training :

  • Assist Operators with performance of all required job duties
  • Take and record instrument readings
  • Collect samples and perform routine laborartory analysis
  • Maintain Utility tract through general clean up and wash-down facilities
  • Perform routine tasks with hand tools (shovels, rakes, etc.)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS for Wastewater Operator I - VI :

  • Operates and maintains the water / wastewater treatment facilities as required by city, state, and federal guidelines;
  • Assists with water and wastewater line repairs, new line installation, and other work as directed.
  • Inspect and maintain pumps, motors, valves, and other plant equipment in working order, troubleshooting problems as they arise.
  • Performs routine tests on water treatment facilities including tests related to the treatment process, chemicals, pumps, motors, and routine water quality sampling.
  • Documents plant performance including daily flow, well meter readings, and chemical dosage and usage.

    Work Experience

    Operator in Training : Entry Level

    Wastewater Operator 1-4 requirement : Must hold a current Water Grade IV license with the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.

    3 Years of directly related experience in water and / or wastewater system operations and maintenance.
