Must be a Catholic in good standing willing and able to share our Catholic faith with creativity and joy in an age-appropriate manner.

Qualifications / Requirements :

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate
• Bachelors degree (minimum) including all courses and state tests needed to meet credential requirements
• Catechist certification required for all teachers of religion (may be completed within 1 year of hire)
• Required prior to working with students : fingerprinting background check and completion of Protecting Gods Children training.

Experience / Skills :

All teachers in the Archdiocese of Detroit Catholic Schools shall be certified and / or approved for teaching by the Michigan Department of Education. All teachers are required to hold the appropriate endorsement(s) for the subject(s) they are assigned to teach. All teachers who are catechists (teachers of religion) must be certified by the Archdiocese of Detroit.
