Job Description Summary

The purpose of this job is to administer employee leave of absence programs, reasonable accommodations under the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the transitional duty program. This role develops, implements, and continuously improves processes and procedures in compliance with all related rules and regulations, including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), ADA, Uniformed Services Rights Readjustment Act (USERRA), and relevant state, federal, and local laws.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description

• Administers and manages ADA accommodations for employees and applicants, including engaging in the interactive process to determine reasonable accommodations.
• Serves as the FMLA Coordinator and subject matter expert, overseeing all aspects of leave administration, including managing the contract and relationship with the third-party administrator (TPA), ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
• Manages the transitional duty program. Collaborates and consults with departments to identify transitional duty needs, determine employee eligibility, and monitor ongoing placements.
• Coordinates and provides guidance on employee leave programs and related benefits.
• Conducts audits to ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, and best practices.
• Develops and delivers training for supervisors and employees on topics such as ADA, FMLA, and other leave and accommodation-related policies and procedures.
• Communicates with a compassionate, clear and professional approach, effectively conveying employee rights, responsibilities, and limitations in alignment with applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
• Responds to complaints and inquiries related to disability discrimination, conducting investigations and providing appropriate responses.
• Creates and maintains accurate, confidential documentation and case notes.
• Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
