General Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Executive Producer of Dragon Media, the Video Production Engineer leads the design, installation, maintenance, and evaluation of all video and podcast production facilities, including studios and master control. This role ensures the seamless operation and technical integrity of the department's 24 / 7 multimedia production infrastructure. The Engineer also guides future technology integration and upgrades, maintains system performance, and ensures compliance with cybersecurity and institutional standards.

Education & Experience :
Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in broadcast engineering; OR a combination of education, industry certifications, and at least three (3) years of hands-on experience in a professional video production environment.
Technical Knowledge :
Comprehensive understanding of digital video and podcast systems, including nonlinear editing, digital storage, media servers, and IT / networked production environments.
Soft Skills :
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities; works well independently under tight deadlines.
Preferred Experience with Specific Systems & Equipment
Video / Production : Tricaster, Ross Switchers, Hitachi / Panasonic cameras, PTZ control systems, Livestream Studio, Vimeo Enterprise
Audio / Comms : Audio consoles with Dante networking, Clearcom, RTS
Media Storage / Archiving : Facilis shared storage, FastTracker, StorageDNA LTO
Automation / Broadcast : Tightrope Cablecast, 360 Systems, Blackmagic / AJA routing
Software & Editing : Adobe Creative Cloud, Apple Mac Pro, Windows PCs
Support Gear : CueScript, Prompter People, professional lighting, ENG cameras, Sachtler / Vinten tripods

As a participating member of the Maryland Retirement and Pension System, HCC offers two retirement options : The Pension, which requires a 7% employee contribution and The ORP , a 403(b) with a 7.25% employer contribution only.
