About the University :

California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) opened in 2002 as the newest campus in the California State University system. Since that time, the University has grown and developed into one of the premier public universities, not only in the California State University system, but also in the nation. Indeed, . About the Program :

The Master of Public Administration at California State University Channel Islands will begin offering courses in the fall of 2024. The Master of Public Administration at CSUCI prepares student for thriving careers in public service. Coursework focuses on knowledge, skills, and expertise key to lifelong professional development in local, county, state, and federal agencies, as well as nonprofit organizations.

About the Position :

The position involves teaching courses for the Master of Public Administration program. Service appointments for program related work may also be included. Examples of such service include work with student internships, student recruitment and admissions, and the program's disciplinary accreditation process.

Minimum Degree Requirements :

PhD in Public Administration or a related field. Applicants holding other graduate degrees such as a Master of Public Administration, Master of Public Policy, Doctor of Education, or Juris Doctor will also be considered given substantial professional experience or PhD candidacy.

Required Qualifications :

Completion of at least a Master's Degree or the equivalent

Experience teaching or serving as a teaching assistant in a graduate program

Applicants should demonstrate the commitment to effectively work with and engage a diverse student population and evidence of how they would successfully mentor minoritized students with special focus on Latinx, Black / African American, American Indian, and Asian / Asian American / Pacific Islander students.

Preferred Qualifications :

Professional experience in the Public Sector

PhD in Public Administration or a related field

Responsibilities :

Teaching assigned courses and completion of any assigned service activities.

Placement into a range is based on qualifications and experience. Initial assignments are typically at the bottom third of the salary range. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.
