Overview
General Dynamics Electric Boat, the nation's premier designer and builder of nuclear submarines, is seeking a CNC Programmer (Technical Support Analyst) to join our team!
The Technical Support Analyst is a skilled position responsible for using CAM software to program CNC machine tools in support of the Machine Shop. This individual must ensure programs are created and downloaded so that they can be readily used by the operator as well as working to optimize machine efficiency. This role will support and assist in machine trouble shooting and testing as well as cutting tool research and purchasing.
Job Duties & Responsibilities :

- Coordinate with production planning to supply operations the necessary programs and sketches
\n
Ability to support varying tasks and projects based on supervisory direction\n
Generation and support of Continuous Improvement initiatives\n
3D Modeling / Drafting / Programming\n
Be able to read, interpret and understand technical drawings and geometric dimensions and tolerance callouts\n
Identification and testing of cutting tools\n
Departmental drafting, using NX CAD to provide machinists with additional information\n
Design and building of fixtures for the automation of processes\n
Machinist Training and Leadership, Training machinists in G-Code, cutting tool use, math and machine operation\n \n

Qualifications
Requirements : \n
High School Diploma or equivalent\n
Minimum 5 years of FANUC CNC Controller experience\n
Minimum 5 years of Machine Shop experience\n
Ability to read blue prints and drawings\n
Able to climb in enclosed machines\n
Available to work any shift per business need\n \n
Preferred : \n
Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Computer Engineering\n
1 to 3 years of CAM Programming experience\n
5 years of Siemens CNC Controller experience\n
Multi-Axis CNC experience\n
Competency in Siemens NX CAM\n
Working knowledge of lean manufacturing\n
