Business Manager - Ambulatory

Business Manager Role

BJC is looking for a Business Manager in the Ambulatory area. The role will monitor departmental operations and review and act on key metrics. This is an onsite position working 7 : 30 AM - 4pm Monday - Friday.

Overview

The Department of Ambulatory Services at Barnes-Jewish Hospital consists of the multidisciplinary staff of BJH Ambulatory Services including responsibility for the GI Labs, Minor Procedure Center, Pain Management Center, Diabetes Center, Resident Clinics, Wound / Ostomy Center and other services as assigned. This department assures that all customers receive the highest level of attention and prompt, courteous service.

Provides strategic leadership and consultation in operational and financial analysis for a clinical department(s) of a significant size and operating budget. Builds collaborative teams that strive for continuous improvement and business results that meet / exceed every customer's expectation.

Responsibilities

• Manages individual(s) including but not limited to : hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet / support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
• Analyzes large amounts of data and provides in-depth analysis needed to support services within the business operations to meet operational and strategic goals.
• Identifies and initiates cost reduction strategies.
• Directs and manages the operating and capital budgeting processes for the department, including the monitoring of actual costs against these budgets.
• Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and / or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
