RF Engineer

Raytheon is seeking an RF engineer that has hands on integration and troubleshooting experience across RF systems. The individual will need to map requirements to measured results as part of performing integration.

Responsibilities to Anticipate :

  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to develop software for controlling hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) facilities, which serve as flight simulators for missiles.
  • Design, code, and integrate software in a real-time environment.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time to support the development and delivery of our test environment equipment.
  • Obtain and maintain a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) security clearance.
  • Note : Due to the nature of our work, remote work is not an option.

What You Will Learn :

  • Gain system-level knowledge of the products supported by the HWIL department.
  • Work effectively with a group of engineers from multiple disciplines.
  • Develop and integrate software for HWIL systems.
  • Qualifications You Must Have :

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5-years of relevant software development experience.
  • Experience with software development in C++, using the object-oriented features.
  • Active and transferrable US government issued Secret security clearance (not interim) is required prior to start date. US citizenship is required, as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) security clearance. An SSBI security clearance is required for access for sensitive compartmented information and has additional restrictions beyond a Secret security clearance.
  • Qualifications We Prefer :

  • A Computer Science, or Software Engineering degree.
  • Experience contributing to the design, development and / or integration of the test equipment and / or hardware (software that controls complicated hardware systems).
  • Strong organization, coordination, planning, teaming skills, as well as written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with Software Agile Process.
  • Experience developing software using Linux operating systems.
  • Some comprehension of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) terminology.
  • Existing SSBI clearance.

    This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.

    Location : Tucson, AZ

    The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education / training, and key skills. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and / or the company's performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
