Machinist - 2nd Shift (South Bend, IN)

Job Description - Direct Placement

This is a job shop environment – NOT high-volume production. Candidates will work on a wide range of custom parts and projects, not repetitive line work. This company is family-owned and operated, and is looking to add another person to their machining department!

Pay Range :

23 – $28 / hr., depending on experience
2 shift premium for off-shift

Shifts Available :

2nd Shift : 12 : 00 PM - 8 : 00 PM, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

Help develop setup tooling and work instructions for new jobs

Setup and qualify 1st pc on recurring jobs

Run remainder of order

Assist with 1st pc inspections for other operators

Continuous improvement (Quality and Productivity) efforts on repeat jobs

Troubleshoot machine issues and assist with preventive maintenance efforts

Learn to run and operate a variety of equipment including 4 and 5-axis machines

Qualifications :

Proficiency operating CNC machines (required)

Experience with blueprint reading and interpretation skills (required)

Familiarity with measuring tools including calipers and micrometers
