What You’ll Be Doing
Responsible for supporting, monitoring, upgrading and maintaining Percepta’s network infrastructure and related documentation and policies. Provides guidance on installation of new / upgraded equipment for LANs, WANs, Internet and intranet systems and network segments. Provide day to day support of Firewall, LAN / WAN and Network Security systems. Works with systems administrators and support teams to ensure ongoing operations of voice, server and desktop systems, along with associated voice network systems and mobile devices.
During a Typical Day, You’ll
General Support
- Provide quality support in a timely manner (on call response within 15 minutes)
- Provide Tier III support outside normal business hours as required to support the network
- Provide support for the installation and / or upgrades of new hardware and software to the Percepta and client environment, including but not limited to servers, computers, laptops and printers
- Stay abreast of the latest security vulnerabilities, design, security standards, implement and monitor for compliance
- Monitor, resolve and close trouble tickets
Administration
Provide daily inspection of network hardware, circuits, and review related performanceMonitor, document, and manage network system backupsEvaluate, recommend and implement network hardware deployments and renewalsWorks closely with Percepta Support Center and other Support teamsNetwork Support
Establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocolsEstablishes network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation and configuration and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewallsMaintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendorSecures network by developing network access, monitoring, control and evaluation; maintaining documentationPrepares users by designing and conducting training programs; providing reference topology diagrams and supportUpgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating and installing enhancementsAssists with budgeting by submitting information for budgets; monitoring expensesUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizationsProtects organization's value by keeping information confidentialAccomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishmentsWork Environment

Education
BS degree in Networking / Information Systems and 3 years of experienceFour years relevant experience may be substituted for degreeExperience
Four years’ in-depth experience in modern enterprise LAN / WAN systemsTwo years’ experience in Network securityExperience with VPN and Internet Proxy systemsExperience with Virtualized networking (ACI, VMware Distributed Switching, or NSX)Familiar with mixed network support of Windows and Linux / Unix based operating systems(Expert knowledge of DHCP, DNS and TCP / IP and the OSI ModelIn depth knowledge of BGP, OSPF and EIGRPCCNA certified or equivalent work experienceStrong organizational, communications, and problem resolution skillsPersonal computing experience, including Microsoft OfficeWhat You Can Expect
