The Bookkeeper / Financial Specialist is responsible for managing the daily financial operations and maintaining accurate records tailored to a membership-based, hospitality-focused environment. We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable professional with a strong foundation in accounting and finance.
This on-site position is located in Stoughton, WI.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable and Receivable : Manage the entire A / P and A / R process, including entering vendor invoices, processing payments, drafting member statements, recording all incoming payments.
- Daily Financial Transactions : Accurately record all daily financial transactions, including revenue from ents, and assist with collections of delinquent accounts. Green fees, pro shop sales, events, and membership dues, into accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Lightspeed).
- Bank and Account Reconciliation : Perform timely reconciliation of bank statements and various general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
- Payroll Administration : Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for all staff, manage related tax filings, and administer employee benefits information in coordination with HR.
- Financial Reporting : Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, for review by management and the Board of Directors.
- Budgeting Support : Collaborate with department heads and management to prepare annual operating and capital budgets and monitor actual expenditures against budgeted amounts, analyzing variances.
- Facilitate the membership application and renewal process , ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Auditing and Compliance : Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with established accounting policies and procedures, and assist external auditors as needed.
- Confidentiality and Administration : Maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive club and employee information and perform general office and clerical duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience : Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting or finance, with experience in the hospitality or private club industry being highly desirable.Technical Skills : Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Jonas, Northstar) and strong computer literacy, especially with Microsoft Excel.Knowledge : Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and relevant financial regulations.Soft Skills : Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills, reliability, and excellent communication abilities for interacting with members, vendors, and staff.Education : A high school diploma or equivalent is required, while an associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is often preferred.Schedule : 30-35 hours per week, scheduled Monday through Friday between 9 : 00 AM and 5 : 00 PM
Pay : $21-25 / hr (depending on experience)
