Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Acute Care Therapy Department at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center provides the evaluation and treatment of patients with a wide variety of diagnoses in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding medical setting. Our therapists are critical members of a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to achieving optimal outcomes for our patients. We are committed to teamwork and collaboration; our participation in interdisciplinary patient rounding occurs daily on a number of units throughout the facility providing therapy professionals to work autonomously. Expectations :

• The Physical Therapist provides patient care including evaluating patient for treatment, providing and directing administration of the Physical Therapy care plan upon Physician referral.
• Consults with other health care disciplines to co-ordinate therapeutic programs and discharge planning for individual patient.
• Instructs patients and care givers in home programs for exercises and functional activities.
• Assists with patient program management, while also delivering patient services.
• Serves as a resource by sharing expertise and knowledge and assisting with staff professional development.
