Weld Food Bank is committed to ending hunger and alleviating poverty in Weld County, CO. Operating independently of county government, the organization not only provides critical food and services but also educates the public about the realities of hunger and poverty. Every program is delivered with compassion and respect, ensuring that individuals and families receive support with dignity.
In 2024, Weld Food Bank distributed 15.6 million pounds of food through eight direct service programs and 73 nonprofit agency partners, reaching thousands of children, seniors, and families across the county. Signature programs include Leona’s Kitchen, which serves over 150,000 meals and snacks to children through Kids Cafe and Summer Feeding, the Backpack Program and School Food Pantry Program to ensure children have food outside school, and the Senior Feeding Program delivering nutritious monthly packages to older adults. The Mobile Food Pantry, Farms to Families, and Emergency Food Program expand access to healthy, perishable, and emergency food for anyone in need.
As part of Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief network, Weld Food Bank contributes to a nationwide effort that delivers billions of meals annually through 200 food banks and 60,000 pantries and meal programs across all 50 states, D.C., and Puerto Rico. Through the dedication of its staff, volunteers, and donors, Weld Food Bank is transforming the fight against hunger into tangible, life-changing impact in the community.
The Opportunity
Weld Food Bank is at a pivotal and exciting moment in its history. With a strong foundation, deep community trust, and a legacy of committed leadership, the organization is poised to grow and modernize to meet the evolving needs of a rapidly expanding region. The next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will have the opportunity to build on this legacy while leading the organization into its next chapter - strengthening infrastructure, advancing innovation, and deepening community partnerships to ensure that no one in Weld County goes hungry.
Reporting directly to the Board, the CEO will lead the overall strategic, operational, financial, and managerial responsibilities for an operating budget of approximately $6M, a robust and complex finance budget including food contributions and warehouse operations, and a staff of 31. The CEO will serve as the organization’s chief spokesperson and fundraiser, establishing and growing relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including donors, sponsors, volunteers, local and state officials, and community partners. In partnership with the Board and staff, the CEO will drive the development and execution of strategic plans that strengthen the organization’s sustainability, reach, and long-term impact.

Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $165,000 with benefits.
Vacation : Employees receive 10 days of vacation per year during their first two years, 13 days in years three and four, and 20 days after five years of service. Sick leave accrues at 48 hours per year. The organization observes 10 holidays annually, including the employee’s birthday.
Health insurance options include two PPO plans and two HSA plans, with the Food Bank covering 85% of PPO premiums and 95% of HSA premiums. Delta Dental provides $1,000 of coverage for 93 cents per paycheck. Aflac coverage is available through the Food Bank at a reduced rate, with employees responsible for the premiums.
The retirement plan is a 403(b), with the Food Bank matching 3% of salary or employee contribution, whichever is less.
