Electronics Technician II / III – Released Product Engineering
Location : North Haven, CT
About the Role
Join our Fortune 500 client where you’ll support cutting-edge surgical robotics in their Released Product Engineering (RPE) organization. In this pivotal role, you’ll deliver technical bench support—more hands-on than documentation—to enable seamless prototypes, integrations, and production transfers of advanced electronic systems.
Contract Details
- Type : 6-month contract with potential extension or full-time conversion
- Onsite Flexibility : 4 days onsite, 1 day flexible (for documentation catch‑up once proficient in lab workflows)
- Pay Range :
- Level II : Pay range $25–$37 / hour
- Level III : Pay range $32–$45 / hour
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
Weekly team syncs, monthly RPE meetings, and hardware / product development meetingsHands-on work accounts for 70–80% of your time (bench work >documentation)
Build, test, troubleshoot prototypes and custom boards / harnessesPerform first-article inspections, root-cause analysis, data capture, test setupSet up and maintain test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, data acquisition systems)Support test calibration, lab safety and organization (5S standards)Onboard with SOPs; progress to double-checking documentation and re-verifying as neededMust-Have Skills & Tools
Assembly & Troubleshooting : Soldering (PCBAs and custom cable harnesses), adding test leads, editing PCBs in-houseElectrical Theory & Diagnostics : Passive components, MOSFETs, resistors, logic gates, DC–DC switching, AC / DC differential, safety testing (e.g., IEC 60601), ESD handlingTest Equipment Proficiency : Oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, data acquisition, LabVIEW, thermal couplers, DAC integrationTools & Software : ECAD (OrCAD / Cadence schematic navigation), MS Office suite, Teams, OneNote, lab management tools, calibration processesBest Practices : Lab safety, organization, 5S, documentation accuracy, first-article inspections, component traceabilityCertifications & Experience (By Level)
Level II : 2+ years experience, ideally with IPC certifications (J‑STD‑001, IPC‑A‑610, IPC‑WHMA‑A‑620, IPC‑7711)Level III : 4+ years experience, strong technical foundation, mentoring potential, deeper certification historyIdeal Candidate Profile
