OpenShift Engineer – Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled OpenShift Engineer to play a key role in the engineering, support, automation, and ongoing advancement of our Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) capabilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering multiple OpenShift clusters, enabling application migrations, and supporting project teams as they modernize and transition workloads onto the organization’s PaaS platform. This role requires strong technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to deliver innovative solutions in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support a multi-cluster OpenShift environment.
- Lead and assist with application migrations and refactoring efforts to containerized workloads and PaaS offerings.
- Drive automation, DevOps practices, and platform enhancements across the enterprise.
- Provide technical guidance, thought leadership, documentation, and knowledge sharing to team members and stakeholders.
- Collaborate across teams to troubleshoot complex issues and deliver scalable solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
Proven OpenShift Administration expertise.Experience with OpenShift Data Foundation , OpenShift Platform Plus , Advanced Cluster Management , and Advanced Cluster Security .Strong Ceph administration skills.Extensive knowledge of Linux containers (Docker) , Kubernetes , and modern microservices / containerized application architectures.Working knowledge of Java , JBoss , Nginx , Node.js , and enterprise application design patterns.Hands-on experience migrating and refactoring applications for containerized environments.Proficient with automated deployment tools and CI / CD methodologies.Practical understanding of DevOps concepts, tools, and best practices.Hands-on experience with CI / CD tools such as GitLab .Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to successfully manage multiple concurrent projects.Excellent written, verbal, and digital communication skills, particularly in explaining complex technical concepts.Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including protocols, firewalls, and load balancers.Commitment to documentation, knowledge sharing, and training peers.
