Onsite Medical Technician
The Medical Technician serves as a critical healthcare professional responsible for maintaining employee health, safety, and wellness within our facility. This position combines emergency medical response, occupational health services, regulatory compliance, and preventive care programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
Primary Responsibilities
Emergency Medical Response & Treatment
- Provide immediate first-aid and emergency medical care to employees who experience illness or injury during work hours
- Conduct thorough assessments of injured or ill employees to determine the severity of conditions and evaluate the need for emergency medical services or additional medical attention
- Document all medical interventions and maintain detailed injury logs in compliance with OSHA recordkeeping requirements
- Perform systematic on-site follow-up evaluations with employees who have sustained work-related injuries, monitoring recovery progress and coordinating return-to-work protocols
- Communicate with supervisors and management regarding employee medical status and work restrictions as appropriate
Drug Testing & Compliance
Administer workplace drug and alcohol testing in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Maintain strict adherence to chain-of-custody protocols to ensure specimen integrity and legal defensibilityExecute all drug testing procedures in compliance with Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) guidelines and federal regulationsProperly document all testing procedures, results, and related correspondence while maintaining confidentialityCoordinate with Medical Review Officers (MROs) and testing laboratories as requiredHealth & Safety Training
Design, schedule, and deliver comprehensive training programs on bloodborne pathogen exposure control in accordance with OSHA standardsProvide hands-on First Aid, CPR, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification training to employeesMaintain current instructor certifications and stay updated on the latest emergency response protocolsTrack employee training compliance and coordinate recertification schedulesDevelop and update training materials to reflect current best practices and regulatory requirementsHearing Conservation Program Management
Coordinate and administer the facility's hearing conservation program in compliance with OSHA regulationsSchedule and conduct baseline and annual audiometric testing for employees in high-noise environmentsAnalyze audiogram results and identify standard threshold shifts requiring follow-upOversee proper fitting, distribution, and training for hearing protection equipmentMaintain accurate records of noise exposure monitoring and employee participationCollaborate with industrial hygienists and safety personnel on noise abatement strategiesMedical Services & Equipment Management
Maintain adequate inventory levels of first-aid supplies, medical equipment, and emergency response materialsConduct regular inspections of all first-aid kits, AEDs, and medical stations throughout the facilityEnsure proper storage, rotation, and disposal of medications and medical suppliesCalibrate and maintain medical equipment according to manufacturer specificationsCoordinate with vendors for equipment servicing, repairs, and replacementManage budget for medical supplies and equipment purchasesDocumentation & Recordkeeping
Maintain comprehensive and confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulationsGenerate reports on workplace injuries, illness trends, and occupational health metricsPrepare and submit required regulatory reports to OSHA and other governing agenciesDocument all health and safety activities, training sessions, and program outcomesParticipate in incident investigations and root cause analysis as neededAdditional Responsibilities
Collaborate with Human Resources, Safety, and Management teams on occupational health initiativesParticipate in safety committee meetings and contribute to continuous improvement effortsStay current with changes in occupational health regulations, standards, and best practicesProvide health education and wellness program support as neededPerform other duties as assigned to support the overall health and safety missionWorking Conditions
Position requires availability during standard business hours with potential for emergency call-backExposure to bloodborne pathogens, hazardous materials, and emergency medical situationsPhysical demands include standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 poundsWork environment includes both clinical / office settings and manufacturing floor environmentsQualifications :
Associate degree in Medical Emergency services or related field or equivalent work experience, Required3 years in emergency medicine, RequiredManufacturing environment, PreferredEmergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification, RequiredWho We Are
