Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is hiring an Associate Planner / Planner I for our Jackson, MS office. The role will execute and oversee community-based planning, economic development, and urban design projects, providing expertise and analysis to management and production staff.

Your Primary Responsibilities will include

• Performs advanced professional work related to a variety of planning assignments.
• Evaluates and analyzes the impacts to communities and projects related to community development, urban design, placemaking and economic development.
• Provides guidance on and prepares application for grant and financing options in support of planning and engineering efforts.
• Research county, state, and federal regulations related to environmental quality, social equity, economic and sustainable development, and comprehensive planning.
• Performs technical and field research to gather data for controversial or complex projects.
• Writes, or assists in writing, technical reports and correspondence.
• Assists in developing long range plans for communities with common developmental issues.
• Assists in developing strategies to promote economic and community development or efficient land use consistent with community goals.
• Some travel, including occasional overnight travel may be required.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
