American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVPICU night shift position requiring PICU and cardiac critical care experience and an active NJ or compact license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the CVPICU (Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) of a hospitalCare for pediatric patients with complex cardiac conditions including ASD, VSD, AV canal defects, valve replacements, Glenn and Fontan procedures, TOF, post-cardiac surgery, and cardiac transplantsRequired to float to Pediatrics and NICU as needed based on hospital requirementsNight shifts : 4x12 hours, 7 : 00 pm to 7 : 30 amWorks every other weekend (Sat / Sun)Unit has 19 beds with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 2 or higherUses Medtronic pacemakers and telemetry monitoringEPIC EMR is used for chartingProvide complex critical care to pediatric patients undergoing advanced cardiac proceduresMay be assigned to float to different units based on patient needs and skill setNavy blue scrubs required for this positionLocal candidates are accepted at the same rateAll holidays are rotated based on hospital scheduling needs\n \n Requirements\n
Active NJ or compact RN license requiredBLS (Basic Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications required; NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) preferredMinimum of 2 years PICU critical care experience with at least 1 year of documented cardiac critical care experienceCompetency with BIPAP / CPAP, mechanical ventilation, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care requiredExperience with post-cardiac surgery care requiredProficiency with Medtronic pacemakers and telemetry requiredEPIC EMR experience required or must be acquired prior to startPrevious RWJBH employees must have at least a 1-year break before returning for a travel roleFirst-time travelers not accepted\n Benefits\n
