Location :  Austin, TX (78660)

Hours :   Monday – Sunday || 8 : 00 am or 9 : 00 am - 11 : 30 pm or 12 : 00 am on weekends.

One of our clients out of North Austin, a frozen custard retail store, is seeking an experienced “Assistant Manager” to join their team. The ideal candidate should be outgoing, motivated, and dependable. This role is expected to provide management support by creating memorable experiences, building customer loyalty, and helping with the day-to-day operations of the branch.

This candidate must have exceptional communication skills, experience in a leadership or management role, and have consistent work history with experience in a similar position.

Essential Job Functions :

  • Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep the store operating to standard
  • Assist with new employee training through positive reinforcement
  • Create a positive learning environment by providing clear, specific, timely, and respectful feedback to all associates.
  • Deliver legendary customer service to all customers by acting with a “customer comes first” attitude
  • Develop positive relationships with shift team
  • Execute store operations during scheduled shifts, including organizing store opening and closing duties
  • Follow and reinforce the branch's operational policies and procedures
  • Utilize operational tools to achieve maximum operational efficiency
  • Assist in resolving customer complaints by identifying the issue and providing appropriate solutions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance customer service and improve overall customer experience.
  • Always demonstrate professionalism.

Experience / Qualifications :

  • Must have 2-3 years of proven management experience in the food service industry or a leadership role in a related retail industry
  • Must have reliable transportation and must be able to work all shifts as required
  • Must be at least 21+ years of age
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and peers.
  • A positive attitude, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service
  • Previous experience working in a similar role
  • Customer service experience

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Constant standing and walking
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 50 pounds independently and safely
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps, etc.
  • Constant computer, point-of-sale register, and fountain equipment usage
  • Frequent, continual, intermittent flexing or rotation of the wrist(s) and spine
  • Constant reaching, turning, and performing precision work around the fountain area
  • Constant talking, expressing, or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
  • Constant clarity of vision at near and / or far distances

    • Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Must be reliable with excellent attendance.
  • Ability to direct the work of others
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Effective oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of the retail environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team
