Description
Teaching faculty at Guilford Technical Community College are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationships with other faculty and staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and maintaining competency in their instructional field. He / she will be responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the college.
Under general supervision, this individual will prepare and teach computer courses designed to prepare students to utilize computer technology more effectively in the workplace. Areas of instructional emphasis include software applications, network administration, operating systems, web design, computer programming, cybercrime, and / or hardware installation.

Education Required
o Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field from a regionally accredited university.
Education Preferred
o Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field from a regionally post-secondary institution.
o Subject matter appropriate certifications : Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, Adobe, etc.
Experience Required
o Three (3) years relevant job experience in computer programming, including languages such as Swift, Java, JavaScript, C++, C# within the last 5 years.
o Teaching and / or industry training experience in any of the following formats : teaching courses, training sessions, conducting professional development workshops, and / or other continuing education seminars.
Experience Preferred
o Greater than 3 years relevant job experience in a computer field.
o Post-secondary teaching experience.
o Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes.
o Experience with distance learning and / or alternate instructional delivery systems.
