We're looking for a highly motivated and analytical Insurance Risk & Operations Analyst to join our team. This role will drive the optimization of Premiere and our portfolio companies' insurance programs, blending deep data analysis with strategic risk management and operational implementation. In this role, you will assess, manage, and mitigate potential risks within our insurance operations. You'll analyze data to identify areas of risk, develop strategies to minimize losses, and ensure compliance with regulations. This role plays a vital part in protecting our member companies' financial stability and operational efficiency.

This position demands a unique blend of expertise : a strong foundation in commercial insurance, an aptitude for financial modeling, and the ability to drive cross-functional change. You'll be instrumental in shaping our approach to risk distribution and capital utilization across a diverse portfolio.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Loss & Expense Data Analysis : Conduct in-depth analysis of loss and expense data across more than 14 lines of insurance for our portfolio companies. Identify trends, drivers, and areas for improvement to enhance overall loss performance.
  • Capital Structure & Risk Distribution Optimization : Analyze the costs of current insurance programs and identify opportunities to leverage capital structures, self-insurance and captive programs, for the most effective distribution of risk. Be eager to learn about and recommend improvements to these structures at both the account and company level.
  • Operational Performance Improvement : Study loss performance in connection with business operations. Identify and actuate opportunities to leverage people, capital, and data to achieve measurable financial impact.
  • Data Sourcing & Correlation : Identify, source, and integrate key data points from across our portfolio of companies. Investigate correlations between operational factors and loss performance, developing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Cross-Functional Change Management : Drive and effectuate cross-functional change to improve loss performance, collaborating closely with both internal and external underwriting, claims, actuarial, and other operational teams. Measure and report on improvement in relation to implemented actions.
  • Risk Advising & Consultation : Engage directly with internal portfolio companies to understand their specific risk management needs. Provide tailored insurance solutions, conduct thorough risk assessments, and develop strategies to mitigate potential exposures.
  • Coverage & Program Management : Oversee the full lifecycle of insurance programs, including evaluating coverage needs, coordinating with brokers and carriers to bind and renew policies, managing endorsements and cancellations, and ensuring coverage adequacy. Provide guidance during claims, oversee renewals, and handle policy adjustments to align with organizational goals.
  • Health & Benefits Program Support : Contribute to the design and implementation of property, casualty, and health insurance programs. Assist with the day-to-day administration of health insurance plans, ensuring compliance and effective communication of benefits options to company stakeholders.
  • Project Management : Lead or support the implementation of new insurance programs and projects, coordinating with internal teams and external partners. Develop and manage project timelines to ensure on-time delivery of services.

Skills & Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, insurance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in property and casualty insurance and / or health insurance.
  • Background in Commercial Lines insurance is strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience in a role requiring complex data analysis, financial modeling, or risk management within the insurance industry.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify patterns, and draw sound conclusions.
  • Strong understanding of various lines of insurance and their associated loss and expense drivers.
  • Ability to connect detailed data analysis to broader strategic objectives and financial outcomes.
  • Highly driven, proactive, and innovative problem-solver, consistently seeking new solutions and process improvements.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, sometimes less organized environment, demonstrating strong initiative and self-direction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences and influence stakeholders across various departments.
  • CPCU Certification is preferred.
  • ARE Certification is preferred.
  • Tableau experience is a plus.
