Salary : Position Summary
The HR / Payroll Assistant supports the HR Director with payroll processing, benefit enrollment, data entry, and maintaining employee files for compliance purposes. This role is key to ensuring accurate records, timely payroll functions, and smooth day-to-day HR operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Enter new hire information, timesheets, paid time off, and sick leave requests into QuickBooks accurately and on time.
- Provide finance with payroll setup details and payroll-related updates.
- Maintain and organize personnel files and payroll documentation.
- Assist employees with benefit enrollment and ensure timely submission of benefit-related documentation.
- Process expense reimbursements and ensure accuracy in payroll cycles.
- Assist with HR data entry and daily administrative tasks.
- Support HR Director with incident documentation, compliance tracking, and reporting.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education : High School Diploma or GED required. Equivalent work experience in an HR administrative role preferred.Skills & Requirements :Strong computer skills (Microsoft Windows, QuickBooks, Excel).
Excellent data entry accuracy and attention to detail.Effective organizational, recordkeeping, and multitasking skills.Strong oral and written communication abilities.Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.Reliable, punctual, and able to meet deadlines.Friendly and professional demeanor.Ability to fax, scan, and copy documents as needed.Compliance & Confidentiality
This position requires strict adherence to MECAs HIPAA policy and confidentiality standards. All employee and patient information must remain confidential during and after employment. Any suspected misuse or disclosure of information must be reported immediately to a supervisor or the Privacy Officer.
Training & Development
Attend mandatory staff meetings and trainings.Participate in cross-training to support other HR functions.Supervision
Reports directly to the HR Director and operates under MECAs policies and procedures.Quality Assurance
Ensure all personnel files are complete, accurate, and organized.File and maintain documentation weekly to meet compliance standards.Verify benefit enrollment documentation is processed and filed accurately.
