The Sr. Process Engineer is responsible for engineering activities related to the processes and facilities for gas treatment, liquefaction, regasification, HHC treatment and ship loading / unloading at Elba Island. The successful candidate will have a strong design understanding and operational expertise of key equipment involved in LNG liquefaction facilities. Experience must include guiding operations personnel and other engineers on all aspects of the process including instrumentation, control schemes, alarm management, production optimization, operator training, simulator testing and maintenance, etc.
Essential duties and responsibilities :
- Advocate and provide leadership for process safety at the LNG terminal
- Provide daily support to plant Production personnel in troubleshooting process issues and concerns by integrating fundamental principles of fluid flow, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and hydrocarbon process chemistry
- Review and contribute to commissioning and start up activities
- Modify and maintain P&ID’s, and other process related documents
- Support process improvement studies, performance optimization, incident investigations, economic evaluations, technical audits, and safety studies
- Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, optimize liquefaction units, debottleneck equipment, etc.
- Conduct proactive monitoring and troubleshooting of assigned processes equipment
- Provide technical review of MOC’s and Operations procedures
- Provide training for operations and maintenance personnel
- Provide support for the development and maintenance of the process simulator

Education :
B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical EngineeringExperience / specific knowledge :
Previous process engineering experience (15+ years preferred).Skilled in the application of relevantKnowledge of process safety principles, and previous participation in process hazard analysisExperience with PFD’s, P&ID’s, Cause & Effects, Controls Narratives, Material & Energy Balances, hydraulic calculations, controls, optimization studies, and PRV’sExperience troubleshooting and providing support for process control systemsKnowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids, and high / low pressure systemsCertifications, licenses, registrations :
Must possess a valid driver's license and meet company insurability requirementsMust meet the criteria to maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) as required by USCG / DHS regulationsMay be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job dutiesCompetencies, skills, and abilities :
