Position Summary
Under direction of the Assistant Director of Rental Assistance the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program Integrity Specialist investigates potential fraud, abuse, and noncompliance within the federally funded housing program. They perform file reviews, conduct research, and work with other agencies to ensure the integrity of the program and recover overpaid funds. The PI Specialist must be able to understand and apply program regulations, provide excellent internal and external customer service both in person, over the phone, and through e-mail.

Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in criminal justice, business administration, social services, or a related field is often preferred. A minimum 3 years of experience working with the affordable housing programs preferably the Housing Choice Voucher program. Required experience typically includes work in HCV Specialist, housing compliance, or federal program fraud investigation. Preferred certifications, HCV Specialist or similar. Candidates with accreditation earned in foreign institutes are encouraged to apply License Required Valid Tennessee driver's license Must obtain Hearing Officer Specialist Certification within one year of employment.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Analytical Skills : Strong analytical, time management, organization, investigative, and interviewing skills are essential, as are excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Candidates need proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and the ability to handle confidential information. A valid driver's license is required. Financial Skills : Knowledge of general accounting practices; ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and fractions) to calculate, anticipate and process retroactive payments. Resilience : Willingness and mental and physical ability to perform the duties involved in this classification. Ability to perform work with or without accommodation requires sitting, standing, and walking, dexterity of hands and clarity of vision, speech and hearing and powers of observation; other physical duties as required.
