Job Description

We're a consulting firm that builds automation solutions for clients using n8n as our primary workflow platform. We need a developer to help us build, document, and deploy n8n workflows from concept through production.

What We Do

We take client business problems (PDF processing, CRM integrations, email automation, data pipelines) and turn them into working n8n workflows. Solutions are prototyped in our sandbox environment, documented thoroughly, then deployed to client infrastructure (often cloud, sometimes Windows / WSL or Docker).

The Work

Workflow Development : Build n8n workflows from requirements triggers, API integrations, data transformations, conditional logic
Sandbox Prototyping : Develop and iterate workflows in our test environment before client deployment
Documentation : Create runbooks, session summaries, and technical specs that non-technical clients can follow
Deployment Support : Assist with deploying workflows to client environments (Windows / WSL, Docker, local installs)
Troubleshooting : Debug workflows, fix expression errors, resolve API issues
Real-time Support : Be available during scheduled client sessions to troubleshoot issues as they arise

Tech Stack

Primary : n8n (self-hosted and cloud)

Languages : JavaScript (n8n expressions), Python (PyMuPDF, Flask, utility scripts)

Integrations : Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Sheets), various CRMs (GoHighLevel, HubSpot), REST APIs

Infrastructure : Docker, WSL / Ubuntu, Windows Server

Tools : Git, markdown documentation

What We're Looking For

Proven n8n experience (show us workflows you've built)

Strong JavaScript fundamentals (n8n expressions, data manipulation)

API integration experience (REST, OAuth, webhooks)

Clear written communication (you'll write documentation clients read)

Problem-solving mindset (client environments are never "standard")

Preferred : Python scripting (PDF processing, data transformation), Docker / containerization, Windows / WSL, client-facing consulting or support roles

Working Style

This is asynchronous work with occasional real-time collaboration

Most tasks are async we provide requirements, you deliver working workflows

Some tasks require availability during US business hours (MT) for live troubleshooting during client sessions (scheduled in advance)

Communication via Slack / chat for quick questions

We work iteratively expect feedback loops, not one-and-done handoffs

Engagement Structure

Starting with ~10 hours / week, scaling based on project load. Looking for a long-term relationship, not a one-off project.

Hourly rate : Competitive, based on experience. Include your rate in your proposal.

How to Apply

Show us your n8n work : Link to workflows you've built, screenshots, or a brief video walkthrough. If you can't share client work, build something simple and show us.

Complete the test scenario (see attached) : This is a short exercise that shows us how you think through problems. We're not looking for a perfect answer we want to see your process.

Tell us about a time you debugged something tricky : A workflow that broke, an API that misbehaved, a client environment that didn't cooperate. What happened and how did you solve it?

Confirm your availability : What hours / timezone are you in? Can you occasionally be available during US Eastern business hours for scheduled sessions?
