Location : St. Margaret Mary Parish, Naperville, IL

Reports to : Pastor

Employment type : Full-Time, Benefited

Normal working hours : Monday-Friday 8-4

All St. Margaret Mary Parish employees contribute to our mission in their own way. The Director of Facilities & Administration is responsible for the oversight of parish finances and business operations, including a small team of facilities and office support staff management.

What You'll Do

We need a Director of Finance & Administration who is committed and passionate about the long-term financial health and administration of the parish especially during this time of growth. Primary duties include but are not limited to :

Finance Responsibilities :

Oversees the parish's finances including revenues and offertory collections, expenditures and capital expenses, and cash flow.

Facilitates fundraising and stewardship initiatives including capital campaigns, the online giving program, and other donations

Manages the payroll process for all staff, including pension and 403(b) plans.

Produces monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, and manages the general ledger and accounting-related functions

Collaborates with the Pastor, Finance Committee, and others on the annual budget and financial policies.

Collaborates with the parish facilities staff, serving as financial lead on major projects and financial support for regular operations.

Manages banking relations, reconciliations, and procedures; credit card and vendor accounts; and the Diocesan trust accounts.

Serves as the primary staff liaison to Diocesan administrators and ensures compliance with Diocesan financial policies.

Administration Responsibilities :

Oversees the facilities and office support staff including the Facilities Manager, Administrative Assistants, Accounting Assistant and Sacrament Coordinator

Develops, implements, and directs personnel policies, including hiring and termination procedures, job descriptions, personnel evaluations, benefits enrollment, and compliance reports for all staff.

Serves as the primary administrator for background checks and assists with the parish's youth and vulnerable adult protection program, VIRTUS.

Oversees the parish's master calendar and administers scheduling of facilities.

Oversees technology needs such as computers, software licenses, email, and phones.

Maintains vendor insurance, contracts, and licenses.

Ensures compliance with Diocesan and parish policies in all areas.

Other duties as assigned by the Pastor.

What You'll Need

Bachelor's degree in management or business required, Master's degree preferred.

Accounting experience is required.

Minimum 5 years of experience with demonstrated supervisory, organizational, and time management skills.

Several years' experience in successfully managing financial and administrative operations.

Experience with office technology is required.

Must be able to effectively communicate and collaborate with others and ensure the utmost confidentiality with respect to sensitive information.

Normal working hours are from 8am - 4pm, Monday through Friday.

Must support the mission, philosophy, objectives and policies of the Catholic Church and the Diocese of Joliet, and be open to prayer & faith sharing in all aspects of work.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation will be $70,000-85,000 annually. Commensurate with experience.

Full-time employees receive generous benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance; two weeks paid vacation per year; additional paid federal and liturgical holidays; and pension & 403B retirement plan as per Diocesan / parish personnel policy.
